How do you find players names or steam IDs?

I was in-game on Livonia, I just got this game, I had 2 hours prior before I met a player. He seemed to be from Europe or something, maybe German, he spoke pretty good English and taught me how to play. We walked for an hour, almost starved to death, but we made it to a town. We were eating pumpkins and chicken when some dude shot us both, so fast. I never got his ID and I wish I knew how to find him.

Did he ever mention his name? even an alias? anyhow, what AM1986EST said is correct, though it will show you all players you recently played with. Meaning ALL players that were in the server.
