The reason we should be wearing masks is from the risk of Typhoid fever, cholera or even the reemergence of the plague though they may transmit gastroenteritis or food poisoning syndrome for survivors if they contaminate streams, wells or other water sources..
I hope the dev's never implement tanks or APC, but maybe an option for crafting armed vehicles or sheets of metal over the widows.
Why isn't/couldn't the cloud be moving with the wind and only in one location? It just isn't a practical option if you want some form of immersion within the environment.
Biohazard equipment doesn't necessarily mean "radiation" and is used as a precautionary measure against diseases.
If there was this much radiation exposure throughout the 225 km2 Chernarus map then our characters would be living, sleeping in the biohazard suits.
The problem is there are no dead bodies scattered around the map, just afew mass graves and hanging people that dont have any loot so people dont go near them. Also untill they add ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and pee as thing the player has to do to stay alive and healthy that wont matter to much ether, that said trash piles should be more common and have be dangerous to get close too.
The reason i sugested chemical cloud visuals was just to make it harder for players in tisy to see like a permant fog over the place. sure it might not make sense that it hasent been blown away but nether dose people becoming infected and attack each other, it would just be a game thing to make the game harder, like how there is a 24/7 fog on the coast that makes no sense at all but its there anyway
not really the map is very big afew toxic places like tisy, nwaf and one of the coast citys wouldent make lving in bio suits all the time a thing, the chemical convoys i sugested might not be a great idea though. Still citys need to be more dangrous, there will be all sorts of contamiation and stuff leaking from factorys mean they would be dangerous places or at least a little risky, wells and ground water should be pollouted in some areas too.
i still dont see why people are agasint armoured vehciles, i mean they take a hell of a lot of looking after so much so it would make them impractical for the most part. Also once the devs did metion having a PKM as a vehicle mounted weapon but that was a long time ago, i do think some armoued vehicles should exist like tecnicals, the Unarmed Medical BMP-3's and the BRDM apc thing you see crashed everywhere. it would make base raiding more interesting, make the RPG7 and LAW usefull because good luck using thme agasint fast moving helicopters like the littlebird they are adding. I mean creating amred vehicles by adding metal parts to them is cool an all but makes no sense when it would be just as easy to fix up one of the abandoned BMPs or Hummers everywhere
As for when and what, sometime during beta as everything else I'd say.
Of course there is and those few mass graves are just a few of the uncovered reminisce of the mass graves across the landscape?
Again for immersion within the environment you don't need such a in-game mechanic (Our characters do alright for someone which doesn't have a sleep function mechanic). Having one location as a contanimated zone isn't practical and the dev's should have it based on survivor population and locations most frequented, so the contanimated zone outside of Tisy would constantly change with the movment of survivors and the deposit of urine and faeces across the landscape.
So some strain of "Rabies" isn't plausible - a viral disease that causes inflammation of the brain in humans and other mammals.
Fog around coastal locations is a natural phenomenon that fog forms around coastal locations, because of the water and temperature. Inland around lakes and rivers is also plausible, which depends once again on the weather conditions. But I agree some of the inland water sources should also have heavy fog, especially around the morning time.
I wasn't disageeing about other loctaions being contaminated but merely the choice of contamination such as radiation when there are more practical options.
You want to fix up the burnt out abandoned APC's and humvee's when welding some iron sheets onto a vehicle would be more practical? Again no issue with crafting options with vehicles, but i do have an issue with military armoured vehicles. You make it sound like RPG's & LAW will be easy to come by as a countermessage for such vehicles?
Would not mind a nuclear plant and could even fit into the area but should deffo not be on the coast.
And yes Chernobyl has a sprawling wildlife/fauna but if there are high radiation areas that would kill of ppl in the matter of days so would wildlife and fauna. The remarkable thing is that they seem to be better at acclimatizing in areas with radiation but at ceratin lvls it simply kills of everything.
Edit: The Chernobyl New Safe Confinement will have equipment which will make decommissioning relatively incidental to, yet an integral part of, the cleanup of the exploded reactor. The majority of the external gamma radiation emissions at the site are from the isotope caesium-137, which has a half-life of 30.17 years.
