NON-INFECTED open water source
I just wanna ask around among you guys. I found a open water source that will not get you infected, or cholera. It is a farmers house with water through for animals at
704.73 / 4549.96.

I would like to get fresh water not olny from pump-wells, but also thoose with a wooden hatch.
But I found this, and I have been drinking alot from it, and I am not infected.
Does anyone of you have a similar experience? A water source out there, that will not get you any sickness?
:)

all open water sources have a certain probability to make you sick.
it's pretty high but it's randomized.
or maybe they just forgot to rig that pond with a chance to get sick :steammocking:

If they forgot to make this infected, it is a litte funny. :) But it is not a pond, I made a screenshot above to show you what I mean.
:)

And I have been drinking 4 bottles of water from it, and I am not sick yet

Cooking pot is what you need.
Put water, boil it.
Or use chlorine pils..(purefication tablets)
Other then water pomp (well) every source of water in the game have 50/50% to make you sick.

I wonder if it's treating the object like a barrel? Catching rain water? Rain water is safe.

Just don't would be my recommendation, at least not if you cant boil it or have chlorine tabs as above. I am at the point I know where the nearest well is at most locations and I have a map if I am unsure.

I know what you other guys mean, but I tried this too. It is NOT a 50/50 to get sick at this place. I have tried to drink so many times, both directly and in bottles, so I am convinced this is a non-infected source.
I also found a pond up at the querry. I have been drinking water from this pond, MANY times, and still not sick. So I guess, that either they have changed some water to be non-infected, or I should go to Vegas, and try my luck at the blackjack table
:)

okej, i have to admit to one thing..... I just got cholera from the pond i wrote about above. BUT strangly not until I drink from the center of the pond? I have been drinking from the pond's east side like 40 times without getting sick, but when I drank from the center, i got cholera.

So i am not the wiser about how the infection system works. but it is cool if parts of the pond in infected and not everything?
Otherwise, everyone who takes water that is not from a pump-well, you must boil it first or use chlorine-tablets....

I have my doubts if you can get sick with a strong immunity system (fully fed, not cold). I ate a lot with bloody hands and drank from all kinds of waterholes to test it, and didn't get sick yet. Could be me being lucky tho...

Ahhh..... there you said something. I have read from devs, that your immune system is better, when well fed ect.
I could be that I (as always), keep me in "top-form", with warmth, rain, cold, hunger and thirst.
Maybe it is that simple?
I'll shall make an experiment...

ok, I stand corrected. After a few experiment, it turns out that if I am fully fed, and almost full hydration, warm, and full blood + health, you dont get sick so often from open water sources.
