My Poor Poor Shoes.

Wow sometimes you just have bad luck and so it goes for my shoes. Don't think I have not been looking out either ha ha. Same goes for duct tape. Oh my I looked in a few towns and nothing to be found. I guess my question for you super experts is.... what can I do now? Rags? Epoxy? Um.. any ideas?

I have a good hike ahead of me to the next town as well. It's been a tough start but now I'm so good I hate to be brought down by a pair of Payless. LoL.

I know the feeling, that's why in my current march from Zelenogorsk to Stary and back for a car I've been wearing Wellies until they crap out and keeping my fancy Jungle Boots safe in my coat. LOL

Check the long farm buildings for Wellies and car wrecks too maybe you'll find a pair of sneakers to tide you over temporarily!

I'm having problems with foot wear to as they don't seem to last very long. Only been rezzed a few hours and already worn through 3 nearly pairs - training shoes, work boots and now these sneakers. The sneakers have lasted less than 30 minutes before going to damaged.

Perhaps its the surfaces I'm traversing - countryside, rocks, farm houses. Only found one duct tape but no leather repair kit yet. Guess its just luck as usually less than 10 players on this Deer Isle server.

just always change your shoes whenever possible.

I'll guess it's because you constantly run ? I have some military boots and didn't changed them since a lot of time.

I had the mil boots once and they stayed in good shape for a long time. Personally the shoes wear way too fast like so much other gear. What Malkom said. They should tweek that a bit. Once on my feet shoes should be a non issue for a long time no?

The game wants us to constantly scavenge or sit in one spot in pristine gear maybe to force more player interactions?

I wouldn't mind if they either tweaked it down some or just ignored that aspect entirely without resorting to mods. We already have to clean our guns, sharpen our blades and sew/tape our clothes as it is, footwear seems very minor and i'm convinced that my pants are getting ruined from zombie attacks because my character ♥♥♥♥♥ themselves from the fright LOL.

I am finding the maintenance as well as the loot very "EARLY ACCESS" like. As if to test.... "yeah, shoes break." "yeah, shoes can be fixed." "yeah hats can break." "yeah hats can be fixed."

Because shoes and hats and gloves are everywhere. Yet I'm playing solo LAN server on my own just testing....

7 real life days of playing several hours daily: 1x fire axe only found at the fire station. No splitting axes in any barn, shed, industrial area, factory, wood camp. Like they are not in game. One sharpening stone.

Not one single pistol at the airfield, Mil tents, police stations. I found that little sub machine gun but no mags yet.

Only one Gas from the newbie area to the airfield.

It took at least 5 trips to the airfield over and over + two barrels to finally find gear that matched (mags, ammo, weapons) and a few more trips before I even found a cleaning kit for guns.

Not one..... single...... solitary..... cooking pot? Not one.... even badly damaged 22 pistols.

So lots of useless hats or nothing.

Pistols (FNX) are too low tier to spawn at the AF, for the rest are you sure you didn't messed with the server config file? I haven't played LAN in the last month, but my character there had no problems gearing up.

I have not touched the server config file or anything else other than DL DZ server, install, run a server.bat to start. Everything is Vanilla.

I finally found a pistol at the police station. No mags. Poor fella ran off to war without his pistol. just the mags. Lol

I played for 10 hours on un-modded official 1.0.8 server with the same pair of shoes and they were pristine. Though I don't sprint, unless needed. Found tape and leather repair kits, but didn't need to use them other then tape on the guns. You can always carry a backup pair, but it's not worth the space imo. Just swap shoes when you find a new pair, and you should never have a problem, and can sprint all you want.
