The Double Tap Key (Setting)
How can you for instance... I want FREE LOOK on a double tap so it's always on (Great while hiking). When I go to set it there seems to be no way to add that modifier? Maybe I am missing how it's accomplished? Thanks in advance.

you can't, they skipped all the comfort functions from Arma for Dayz :/

you think the exclusion of certain remap functions for keybindings is engine related?

Of course it is when the new player controller in the engine doesn't support these functions.
The freelook toggle in itself sounds pretty trivial feature, and definitely should make a comeback.

I have no idea how doubletap actions are supposed to be added in the settings but you can at least do it by editing the controls config manually.

I believe it is thanks to the Console Players that they removed most double Tab functionality.
They maybe think its to complicate or because they got less buttons on their controllers.
And it seems they want every plattform to be and feel the same... so we will not see drastically different controls on pc and consoles.

Yes they decided to create a new Engine around 5 Years ago.
Also one of the reasons we had so many Years without working Infected and much other stuff missing which partialy still is missing, but finally possible with new Engine, which is now getting optimized.

And Bohemia is good in frustrating their Fanbase, i bought Livonia because of the hard and awesome open beta gameplay survival settings and for player interaction of all kinds.
I was aware that with release it would get a bit easier, because fruit spawns were deactivated in beta and fresh spawn water and food was a little low. But i was ok with making it a bit easier in the first half hour, but i did not expect what they would do to us.

But with release they did not Balance it, they just reverted to the other easy peasy extreme and made it totally easy again(They promoted hard survival, they showed and let us test play hard survival, than they took it nearly completly away from us again, feels like hurting your own fanbase, bohemia you are not disney making the final star wars movies, so skipp killing your fanbase), like they did all those 3 years with apple glitching, which could have been fixed with removing apples for the time being.
And Bohemia did this again and again with the Survival Fans.
They could deliver the Gameplay expirience we are waiting for, but now it feels they dont give it to us on purpose and the engine isnt ready excuse cant be applied anymore. Maybe something changes with 1.08, but i cant bring me to believe anymore,
the Screwup with Livonia was very disapointing. So i just look by from time to time and see if they finaly delivered the game we are waiting for or not.

forget survival, the game went mainstream which means down the drain and the cheater issue isn't exactly improving the situation.

but at least we got a new engine and seen from the technical side the 'new Dayz' is pretty bright and shiny (compared to the mod).

Yes Loot economy is good, map is even bigger, more than 20fps in cherno =), nice graphics, nice clothing system, nice inventory system, nice everything, thats why iam so disapointed that they dont finaly deliver on survival and make the Gameworld Risky and Deadly.

yeah, depending on the pov there might be lot of wasted potential...it feels like they agreed on the lowest common denominator.
