PSA : Drinking gasoline

Haven't found much RECENT information about what happens if you drink gasoline, so I'll share my experience.

It seems you can survive this type of poisoning if you are healthy when you drink it. I kept my character well fed, hydrated and warm, and tried not to take any damage from zombies (only got hit twice, no bleeding). I presently still have the sick status but colors are coming back.

I drank the gasoline after not being able to refuel a vehicle, I thought it could be water and that was why the action did not show up. Turns out the vehicle was just fully refuelled already. It would be nice to have an option to taste or check what kind of liquid is in a container !

Any other experiences with this wonderful liquid ?

Haven't had it happen yet, but I can see how someone might manage to drink it accidentally, as sometimes that action menu you navigate with the scroll wheel can be a little touchy.

I wonder how many people accidentally drink 20L of gas in real life because they forgot they hadn't replaced it with water yet, or because they meant to put it in their car but OOPS I swallowed it instead...

My friend had a gasoline canister in his hands and wanted to open a door... that was the moment he drank all of the gasoline xD He could find some charcoal tablets and if he would have been more cautious (avoid zombies, keeping him warm and well fed, not stuffed...) I believe he could have survived it. Unfortunately he's got the "talent" to bring himself into quite unhealthy situations (as mentioned) and after almost an hour of struggling he finally died.... Well, he's still learning how to survive. ;)

If it helps, there should be a cancel action choice while eating, drinking etc. So you can cancel drinking the gas.

Happened to me some days ago. I had dropped the gasoline can and I saw it standing on the ground on the opposite side of the room. I managed to trigger drink and the animation was swinging the arms up holding nothing and drinking nothing. Just that the nothing was really gasoline that the game must have thought I was still holding in my empty hands.

Died a bit later with combined hypothermia, thirst and sickness.
I am still new to this game.

Yeah, surviving any sickness is all about how healthy you are when you first get it !
Judging by the time, food and drink it takes from fresh spawn to having the healthy status I'd say your character starts the game in a pretty bad shape :p

I accidentally drank gasoline. I couldn't find any charcol tabs in time and I died. :( lol

I'm not sure charcoal tabs do anything against chemical poisoning, it just helps against food poisoning

This is true. Chemical poisining cannot be cured by anything but time and luck.
