How do i use the radio?

Hi, first time really trying to use the radio. I have the battery and radio and it is set to 87.8 ON. I've watched videos on yotube how to change chat channel but nothing is working. My settings even say my period and comma key are assigned to change chat channel, yet that doesnt work. Help?

ATM they are to complicated to use.
All the channels (car, radio, open world) will be removed for easy use.
Compare them to TS? Really? You can use radios to talk to strangers.
They have definitely a place in DayZ.

I guess the goal for DayZ is to have quality radios without mods and TS.
