90% of Dayz players are doing pvp.
They mostly go on high pop servers.
And those servers are chernarus servers cos all pvp players know how to spawn in cherno and then go to balota, pavlovo mb, zielonogorsk mb, vibor mb, nwaf and to tisy mb.
Livonia is unknown map for them and they need to know it well before pvp.
Thats why i play livonia most of my time.. :)

If players would spawn full geared, livonia would be THE map :).
Personally i think livonia and chernarus overall have the same food/drink amount with standard settings, but in chernarus the military loot is more central and easier to loot. Means pvp players often dislike livonia.
Livonia is a real beautiful map.. Cant see old chernarus any longer. For a survival game (with pve/pvp/rp or "Its dayz, play like you want" servers) with settings much harsher than vanilla livonia is awesome..

You can start your own server for free. But then you have to run your pc 24/7.
Or pay 40$ a month to rent server from many different servers provider's

I haven't played it much, but it feels Livonia is much more PvP centered than Chernarus, as in too much military loot. I mean I spent 5 hours in the map and found something like 6 SKS before a roll of duct tape...

If you're using it for SP surely you only have to run it when you wanna play not 24/7 right!
