hunt down some animals.
1) Make rocks way more common. I've been playing for a week now and I've literally seen zero rocks.
2) Players spawn with between 2 and 5 apples or pears
3) Cans of food opened with a can opener are full of food. This one makes no sense to me. I open a fresh can of spaghetti and meat balls and it's already half gone.
That's it. That's all they have to do. I WANT to play this game, but it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for new players. If they tweeked these three things the game would be fine.
1. Agree x100
Tracks are filled with stones and not one you can pick up......needs more spawn points there and respawn should be short. But then again actual stone knives are made of flint.
2. Might make it too easy. Spawning with a small can on community servers already gives you more time that you don't need to make nutrition your first priority anymore.
3. Gameplay decision to give the can opener an important place in a player's inventory. As it is it's still seen as a waste of inventory space because knives don't spill that much content.
Livonia, I looked outside my house and theirs like 10 of the dang things.
2- meh, I say make it always a pear just one.
3- using anything other than a Can opener can lose food, which makes sense irl, tho a knife shouldn't lose any ethier
I don't know? How DO you plant seeds? I managed to kill a chicken once, and managed to craft a fire AND light it... how DO you cook meat? IRL I would have stabbed it with a stick and held it over the flame but apparently that's not how it's done in Dayz. Starved to death next to a fire, with fresh meat in my hands. Countless times I've had an empty water bottle but no clue how to fill it. The list just goes on... there are probably solutions out there but they are apparently secrets that must not be passed on to new players, lest they might challenge the established player base.
cut a bush that's tall enough to provide you with a long stick and not only short ones, take the stick in your hands and combine the meat you want to roast with it.
(you just have to kill and gut the chicken whatsoever with a knife)
rule of thumb for this game:
if you can't quite grasp its mechanics, use some common sense.
and always keep in mind that everything has to go over your hands, they're central for any action.
And I still don't know how to plant seeds :-|
the learning process is part of the game, we've all been there, trial and error.
(or use some external sources if you need someone to guide you)
just open it with the stick in your hands and drag the meat from your backpack whatsoever to your hands (combine, not swap) or on the little symbol for attachements displayed below the stick.
I'm pretty certain that if you really thought about it you could figure out which tool you need to plant a seed. Your almost there with the chicken. You can also craft a fishing rod and pull fish from any pond.
If you want step by step training you could try asking other survivors you meet in game. Yeah I know! I tried it several times when I started out.
