Fat and the wheather
I have just some hundred hours and I thought it was harsh to deal with bad wheather and rain, especially on Livonia and I liked it a lot.

Then I discovered that it suffice a piece of cooked fat and all the wheather challenge gone.

Should I take a flue at least staying repeadetly under heavy rain?
Should the fat go rot after a while?

Just to test I played some hours naked under all wheater (multiple heavy rain included) and after with just fat and water in a jacket in my hands.

Only thing affected a lot was my hungry and with the fat I easily overcome it.
So, is all this intended?

If yes I would say get rid of the rain and give us just sunny days...

No it is not intended. It is a known bug that cooked food doesn't lose heat, making it act as eternal heat packs if you put it in your clothes. Devs are aware and hopefully a fix is coming soon, in the meantime it is up to you if you want to exploit the bug or not.

Ok thanks.

Anyway, was not the heat the problem it seems.
Cold just make me hungry it seems. And fat solve it.

It would need you get ill with cold and fat get rot easily or give you less calories.

Anyway its good to hear its a known bug.

Hopefully when this gets fixed the devs will also make food perish. Then we can enjoy being cold, wet, and hungry.

Yes. There's a working mod with that by the way, "Perishable Food", also adding salt for conservation and a fridge you can connect to power generator to extend the life of your food. Good mod by the same guy who did Medical Attention (that also brings back broken bones). Mods is not all about gunz, traders and no-stamina...

My opinion, exploit it. Exploit everything you can.

Yeah I've been playing with both those mods recently. Love them. Great mods. More disease, less meds, no well water, and rotten food. :D

You don't have to waste edible food for heating purposes. The best alternative is burned/heated worms. They're hotter, light and take up only one slot of space.
One or two in jacket and pants is usually enough.

Yeah. Mods that bring DayZ closer to a survival. At least there are some servers out there. You just need to find a needle in a haystack.

I tried it with cooked 🍎🍎 to see how much you need. Just two are enough but i don't need them because i am usually running around 99.9% waterproof.

The idea is that I dont want to exploit.

There is an "hardcore" mechanics, something to challenge me but then there is a simple bypass...

I dont like it!

Yeah it is better to ignore exploits like that, will benefit you whenever the bug is fixed. I never sprinted unless I had to in 0.62, that made the transition to gameplay with stamina so much smoother...
