I was asking for the typical dayz player definition of dayz vanilla, which seems to be complete different from the standard wiki definition of vanilla.
In the case of the DayZ Standalone forums, the vanilla DayZ experience is what GooseFoot says. In some instances you might see people refer to the vanilla DayZ experience as what the original mod was without extra mods (modception), while others consider the vanilla experience to be whatever the devs release plus small changes to the XML files on the server that dictate day/night cycles etc.
There's a small post on Reddit about what it meant regarding the original mod, which highlights the point: https://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1pf71l/lets_talk_about_the_term_vanilla/
So many servers offer a "vanilla experience" but run mods that weren't even part of vanilla to begin with. Same crap with hardcore.....by name.
