This is something that has been bothering me for a while. There are some players that use the crates or duplication of crates to carry items, This is something that could be easily fixed in the short term until a long term solution is found.

remove the asset until the exploit is is fix. It impacts server performance as dozens of crates are created and then just left and due to the persistence stay there for a long time.

I would like if there was some discussion on this besides locking of the thread and dismissed out of hand.

I love vanilla servers and hate all the BS that overly modded servers bring. The vanilla game is just that, simple survival without all the extra baggage modding brings.

could just do it so you can make the current crate with two planks and how ever many nails for that 50slot crate but then let us make a crate that requires double the amount of planks and nails but has 100 slots instead.

I've taken to using crates to sort my weapons/ammo. Each crate will have a gun and the matched mags/ammo/accessories. Of course with smaller weapons and ammo that fits multiple guns I have to fudge it a bit but overall it works out well.

The most useful dedicated crate function is to fill it with raw steaks/mushrooms/veggies and sit by your fire/cookpot/oven and go through the cooking process. As the food items show cooked in the HUD then they get traded out for raw items in the nearby crate. This reduces handling and keeps you from accidentally overtemping yourself. The crate full of cooked food makes it handy for vehicle and big pack traveling. The only drawback is that after grilling up a couple of crates of meat and veggies I can feel compelled to take a break and get a snack irl! lol

Why is it "obviously" being duped? You do realize that wooden crates are very easy to make, right? I always have about 10 of them in my bases. There's even a metal rack you can find that has slots specifically meant to hold up to 10 wooden crates. I don't get why you think someone must have duped them just because there are ten in one house. Ten wooden crates is the allowed number on many servers.

And you can't use them to "Carry items", like you said. The crates are very heavy. If you put one in your pack it instantly takes at least half of your stamina. And it takes up almost an entire pack to carry one that way. So you aren't gaining any storage by carrying a wooden crate. And if you carry it in your hands it makes you walk slow. So I don't know how you think people are duping OR how they could be using them to CARRY items.

I have seen allot of crates on Official, but I think folks are simply using them on empty servers to gearup and move to where ever is they are going.

They are not persistent anyhow, will eventually despawn, and on Official, they wipe every patch, so no reason to worry about server performance...its Official!

The sooner they move to 1 life per server the better. Although I doubt they will ever add that, even though they talked about it 5 years ago.

Crate duping should be the least of your worries on Official. Nowadays its stabvests, radiators, and as usual, M4s AKs.

Well, three years ago, this may have been a problem, and it may have been an actual exploit. THREE YEARS AGO when this thread was last active, the Stamina system was completely different ... THREE YEARS AGO !! ... Maybe check the date of a post before trying to talk-down to other people.
