Is There Any Way To Play Offline/Singleplayer?

Hey everyone. I'm thinking of buying this game, and before this I've seen that there's an experimental patch where people can play offline for a while. Alright, so can I play alone?

Yes you can. You can download the DayZ server files through Steam and host a server on your own computer. It takes a little work, but it's really not that difficult. Then you can join the server under the LAN tab in the game.

There used to be an offline mode directly in the launch options for the game itself. Don't know if that still works. The downside with that option is that it is not "persistent" so you'll start from scratch every time you reopen the game. The server method doesn't have that problem.

If you run a lan server from your computer it’s just like joining a server but without the people. It saves when you exit.

Where can I exactly find the DayZ server files? Is it the DayZ experiemental?

Check the workshop for any mod you might be interested in, after that it's not complicated to install them, that same guy has vids on how to implement mods on your local server.

There is Enfusion AI and Expansion AI that is a continuation of the first one. Original developer stopped working on it so Expansion took it over and are polishing it. I haven't used it yet myself, they are pretty limited but getting better.

They have never promised single player, DayZ has always been a multiplayer experience and marketed as such.

Dont play semantics. We all know he means without other players, not literally with an offline PC.

There are a lot of zero population dead servers you can play on where the chances of running into someone are slim to none. But the whole point of Dayz is to feel that terror when you hear a players footsteps run into a building you are already in wondering if they know you are there or not.

"The Question" was asked FIVE years ago ... and has been answered many times more recently, with articulated answers.

Yes, you can run a private server, and play single player on your own PC or LAN server.
No, you can not play DayZ in "Steam offline mode", even though that's NOT what the OP asked. DayZ requires Internet, and a Steam connection to play.
