In 0.62 you get not cold when you sprint. Each nano-second you do not run you will loose heat.
Use that time wisely. Prepare for a fire, cut wood etc.

Keep running, be prepared to make a fire.

Hey, check out these instructions real quick, itll help, I promise....When you find a raincoat, try and pick it up, even if its pink. Save it for a rainy day lol... Theyre 100% waterproof. Gorka military coats are 95% waterproof I believe?? So are Firefighter jackets and hiking jackets.....This is what to do if you dont have a raincoat and got wet, or if you dont have a raincoat and know youll need to run through rain. be sure to check out last tip at bottom, many people dont know it...... hope this helped or I just wasted a bunch of time.....

This is how to get stuff to make a fire pretty quick.

1- When you spawn, try looking at the ground in "rocky" or beack areas, not woodsy areas though... Youll see the option to search for stones, do it until you get a stone.

2- Go into your inventory and right click the stone to make a stone knife

3- Or, you could just wait and find an axe as well.

4- With axe or stone knife in hand, go to a tree and cut off bark, some trees dont have this option, so if you dont see cut bark, find a different type of tree. Cut off 2 pieces bark.

5-Either find a bush to cut sticks, or from the same tree where you got the bark, chose "cut off branch"...when you get the branch, open your inventory and drag the axe/ knife over the branch to cut it into sticks...

6- combine the bark and sticks in your inventory screen to make a fireplace, you can also use rags and sticks as well....t

7- to light the fire you need to combine bark and a stick, this makes a drill starter thing... this is why i said get 2 pieces of bark.....1 for fireplace and 1 for fire starter, you can use matches but bark is a 1 stop shop....

8- place fireplace on ground, put fire starter in hand, look at fireplace and "light fire"

9- If you can, gather additional sticks to keep fire burning once started...use the stone knife to chop down bushes for 3 sticks each, they stack into piles of 5.

10- if you do have an axe, you can just cut the tree down for actual fire logs which last waaaay longer....

Hope this helps man... Once you get the basic jist down this is an easy process to remember and is a handy skill to have when freezing...All you need is a tree and a stone knife!!!!!!!

Remember to always save a raincoat!!!! Google all thewaterproof clothing in DayZ...some are 100% waterproof, others are 80% etc....

ALSO!!!!!! When standing next to fire, or if you absolutely cannot get to a fire, you could log off and wait a while to log back on in hopes the rain is gone....either way, you can remove your clothing items, empty them of anything inside them, and place them in your hands, you have the option to ring them out. This will change them from drenched to just wet or damp, you gotta do it a few times. Once youre just wet or damp, you can run in circles or against a corner and stay warm.... Just put a stack of pennies on the run key and go make a snack lol. DONT do that on a busy server, obviously.
