So no, it is intended and nights will stay this dark.
So, when it gets dark you have to adapt your playstyle. No longer are light sources merely flair items for roleplayers, they are a vital part of the game. You have to make sure you have some before you set out in the night or you'll be stumbling around blindly. If you get stuck out at night without a light source, all you can do is basically to seek shelter until dawn.
Since night only lasts for around 1 hour, this is cool feature.
No, it works just fine. Learn to play during the night or don't play during the night. It's not a slightly darker day anymore.
BTW this is realistic without light nightime is pitchblack.
Only complaint is that nighttime is just as long as daytime. IRL we sleep during the night so it would be great if nighttime was 1 3rd of the length of daytime
It's another bad idea like adding stamina into the game. It will force people to jump over servers or use moded servers only.
Have Bohemia never checked why people don't play on night servers??
Also, during the night, if the moon is there and sky is clear, you can see everything pretty well.
P.S. I really don't like the thing you said: "Plus you are putting yourself at risk". It's a survival game. If you don't like risks, play something else.
