Agree though that vanilla is garbage and horribly unbalanced.
It's not poor base design if someone can destroy it from the outside. Bases should never be safe.
OP if you want a secure space to stash your loot just place crates in secluded locations. Even barrels work. I even put crates in places near hotspots on servers where i know players go but nothing looted yet. Just use your fantasy.
I put barrels on top of the fridge in one of those log houses. Since they always leave the door open they can't see it and barely anyone looks behind that door.
I always check behind the door because occasionally useful stuff does spawn on the top of the fridge.
I stopped burying stuff in crates on official servers because of hackers using esp to dig up all my crates. BeeDubs server is solid, bases are raidable but not without effort or resources expended by the raider. Currently vanilla requires no effort to raid other than finding a commonly available tool and no time. So why spend any time or effort collecting resources to build a base in vanilla only to have it taken in minutes while you’re offline?
