LAN server advanced settings help please.

Hi, I finally succeeded in setting up my own LAN server (on my own machine, I play SP)and it works really well.
I am ok with naming it and changing the basic settings, but how can I tweak F.Eks. zombies' speed, hunger/thirst, infection % etc?

DISCLAMER: before posting I looked at the wiki, google multiple times, searched here and also on Reddit, but I could not find anything else then tips on how to tweak the main config file (as above mentioned), or tips for "real" servers.

I apologize if this question has been answered already somewhere (pls point me in the general direction if so), It's my first time making a LAN server and I am analog-native, thanks for the understanding:-)

Bonus question:
-MODDING: shall I only install mods in the server folder (as per mods' instructions), or install it AS WELL in the main game files as I am server AND player at the same time?

i'm a noob too with this stuff but simple google did reveal a bunch of info. Here are a few I found.
In terms of modding. Most of the time you need them on server AND player. unless it's a server-side mod.

I'll study them tonight and try first with the easy tweaks, slowly but surely I'll suddenly get it:-)

Do you mean I need to put the mods' files both in the server AND in the main DayZ folder?

@ska, thanks, I guess it is stated in the mod's description if I need to do it or not.... Thanks for the video links, I look forward to check them out and give it a go. I actually haven't searched YT, it's because I am more of a text guy, my bad....

Damn, I don't have Discord but I am sure the comments section will be pretty rich.

I really appreciate all the suggestions, I just need to understand how it works, it is (to my noob eyes) a very different modding system then other games I mod, like dear old Skyrim, Kenshi, MC and the like...

I thought it was a third party program, I'll check that out also...
