Basebuilding is useless
Actually devs, people are spending around 4 to 6 hours finding: a shovel, plies, metal wire, 4 / 3 pin lock, Hammer or Hatchet, Nails, Wood Plank to build a Gate.

But what is the point if 4 pin lock can be destroyed with a Hacksaw in 20 seconds? I am really sorry but the base building in current patch is useless. I do not want to play on modded server, I trully enjoy classic vanilla servers however, the component of base building is compeletely useless and frustrating.

Really, I'm a lone wolf and I find base building as been as simple as claiming a house putting in few barrels and wooden creates.

There you go base.

The zombies can jump over walls and players can cut your locks and loot your stuff. Bases are pointless, rushed and added as a PR move to bring in players. Much like other updates, vehicles for example, still too buggy to risk driving one but how many people bought the game in hopes its as good as the mod. Just you wait for the helicopter update. Discussion will be spammed with annoyed people dying for no reason whilst the game sells more copies...

Basebuilding was more of an Arma 2 dayz mod thing. Standalone doesnt have much of the same mid-late content besides the initial looting.

If SP was legitimate then base building could be fun. I just don't see a point of it in MP.

Base building is just fine its the current high volume of cheaters. They can find your base and they somehow know if its worth breaking into... Then once you have something to get they break in instantly.. somehow they know when your gone, and sometimes I think I hear someone nearby when my base just got broke into and yet you can't see anyone in the direction of the sound????? Well at least they are getting their money worth for buying a cheat code, If its anything like what happened in the past they will ♥♥♥♥♥ to high hell when they get booted..... all's fair i guess

In Vanilla maybe, but on some modded servers it's not.

exactly. on some modded servers u can only break thru walls with a sledgehammer. and sledgehammer spawns made super rare. the time to dismantle/destroy walls also takes waaaaay longer there and the tools u use break very fast.
some servers even disabled base destruction totally, which is a bit too much for me. no base should be unbreakable.
bases in the woods are obviously more safer than in some random building.

Me too.
My "base" is hidden in plain sight.

The whole game is useless without mods and all the bugs around.
Yup! But how do they bridge the gap between useless, and still being vulnerable? Like ANY survival game offline raiding kills it , and dayz bases are super easy to take over.... but if they made them unraidable and just a free spot to horde loot without any risk of losing gear takes a huge part of the game away

Really? I find myself rather entertained while doing just that. Subjectivity...

"The whole game is useless without mods"

Well, I guess you need a trader to survive in the game ?

Obviously there should be a way to raid a base. I agree that every base should not be unbreakable. However my point is that the breaking in time is so unproportional to building time. 30 seconds vs 6 hours or so. Devs have to find a compromise between ease of building and ease of destruction. Such a trivial example would be Rust Legacy. A player could build a lot of Metal Doors that could be broken with 2 C4. 1 C4 would take a bit of work to craft but eventually a player could farm around 40 C4 in around 8-10 hours. So if you have 21 doors in your base - the guy simply was not able to raid you completely as though he would left in front of the last door empty handed.

My point is, that building in a current stage is just a bait for us - players that just want some sort of comfort and tired of constant killing and messing up others gameplay. And yet you can claim that DayZ was always like that, but hey, people change so the game should too.

Sadly, one will always have to play the way the lowest allowed on the server play. Private servers fix this, it is just hard to find ones community. The very best luck to you sir.

I appreciate that.
