3rd party launcher for mods to work?

I really want to get back into playing this but the only way to get mods to work properly is a 3rd party launcher? I have seen streamers play and some Mods look really neat. But i try to play any modded server by opening dayz and selecting a server letting it download the mods and update anything and then nope won't log on. guess i will just toss this game in the recycle bin.

Most use https://dayzsalauncher.com/#/home to play modded servers. It will download all the mods you need for a server as well as load them when you click to play on the server.

as long as all the mods on the server are on workshop you can use the regular launcher.
Most just used to the unofficial one, considering it's a 7Mb install it's hardly a big hassle.

You dont have to. DZSA launcher is a community made effort to make it easier for the less tech-savy people to jpin servers that use mods. There is an official effort going on atm to add this feature to the vanilla game, but it is low priority

Server browser and mod list is already in, only issue I've seen is that it could be better indicated if you don't have the mods needed.
