then just read the menu UI which says:
click lmb for the next recipe
hold lmb to craft the item
dunno what's the problem
I have nothing in my hands.
I drag a stick into my hands.
I click on bark I have in my backpack and now it shows "combine or swap" over the stick in my hands. No other options while I'm dragging the bark to the combine window. (Tried mouse wheel, clicking, nothing pops up while I'm doing this.)
Once I drag the bark over the combine window and I release my mouse button, it goes back to my normal view of me standing in the room with no menu. If I right click it starts to craft a fireplace.
At no point do I see any other menu or options. I've tried both mouse buttons and the wheel at every point in this process and I get no options of any kind.
Either press the tilde once, or press and hold it (I forget which action hides.shows which group so just do both until you see both.
The reason this exists is so that you can play with total immersion and no HUD, but you can bring it back when you need it or want it.
Conceivably you can still use scroll wheel to select next crafting item with the HUD off but you won't see what you are selecting. but if you knew one item was the default and the next item is next, you could still manage without the HUD.
But new players should show the HUD when they need it.
The funny part is, after I made the hand drill and before I could use it, a speed hacker with an Indian accent killed me at night in the rain. "He dude, stop moving" as he punched me to death as he space warped all around me. Such is life. I wish I could report him but it's pointless.
