Play what you want, was the goal since day one. (mod support)
DayZ official aims to be hardcore.

It will never be the other way around.

since "day #1" there was a lot of goals, yet we have like 30% completed
"Hardcore" doesnt mean "unbalanced"

You are right "Hardcore" doesn't mean "unbalanced". Many other players don't understand this either and they are annoying to deal with. Especially when there's clearly something sketchy or clunky about player movement or another gameplay element but choose to ignore it because it's suppose to be "Hardcore". So I feel you.

But I gotta be honest with you man. I think the spawns are alright. I don't think you should be able to spawn inside a base you build. And I don't see there being ANYWAY to balance that. You simply spawn at your base or you don't. And having a free spawn back at your base is just in my opinion, and many other player's opinions not okay and I don't see that ever coming to the vanilla game.

I think the nice line of spawns all the way up and down the coast is nice and if you die up north, ya die up north. You spawn back at the beach. RIP.

no its not balanced. If you need to spend 30 min to get to the other part of them map - its not balanced
yea, so its more balanced for me to spawn at NW airfield, get full gear in 5 minutes and already be at endgame? no lol. navigating, exploring, and surviving are big parts of this game. Moving north is to get better gear. remove the travel, then the balance IS GONE. You want loot, you gotta work for it.

Spawning in bases is the worst way they can go tbh, then go play Rust etc die and spawn in 5sec and again and again! Later on with good basebuilding and high adrenaline near a enemy base, its not fun to know they can spawn right in your face after 10sec, but in dayz here (also arma2 mod) there is maybe a person around hiding = you go slower on to try to raid it etc. because you die you have some time to get back!

But spawning mostly at the east/se is also not the best way (even for friends/new player to group up and new player allways the important part). They need to bring back many gameplay parts from the arma2 mod + origins like 5-6 spawn points or cars without gears (just press w or w + shift) and indeed bikes you can/need to craft easy!

I hope they can handle much better the new engine but for me seems like they can not and have very big problems, but on "closed windows" we the community cant see what they are working on.

whine about not finished. Let's make a true comment about balancing. Now I look smart.
Both has nothing to do with my statement. Why you quote me for that?
I was not talking about balancing.
I proved that your statement is wrong. You do not prove with your true statement about balancing that you was right.
As it stands, the spawn system is balanced. It could be less hardcore, by letting people pick where they spawn on the coast, but this would be unbalanced and intrusive to the gameplay. DayZ spawns and progression are as balanced as they can be.

I agree on this.

Thats why people kill himself all the time on the coast to get a better spawn right!? Just put in 4-5 areas on the coast where you can spawn, its still a area from like1000m or something. Tbh i dont care, because i am 100% solo player and know the map. But new player/friends who try the game have a way to meet up and dont get lost and lose the fun in the game.

But that's the FUN in the game. Getting lost, discovering etc. Etc.

Maybe for you its fun getting lost, but we all should think about what is the best for most of the player base. Some people dont have the patience to spawn 10 times in a hour and still dont know where to run. Sure they need to discover the areas and learn the map etc. but just think about 2 friends complete new to dayz/cherno and spawn in. They have half the day no clue where there are. I dont know how many finding this fun.

I tried 4 times for some hours with my older brother to play this game, but he never could tell me exectly where he was.. so it was a pain for me to ask him what he see etc or try to find him with killing myself over and over. At the end and some days later he says fk this game and we tried arma2 dayz and he never touched this dayz here! -_-

I think that you have to earn your group is good for the game. The will to survive when you meet your friends is much higher when you can loose your group.

The OP is wrong. End of thread.
Newer, diverse spawning areas would be fun, anyone who has played this game for years is tired of spawning on the east coast. Especially the barren area between Elektro and Solnechiy

because you took the wrong direction. DayZ was never meant to cater to the casual player. this is a hardcore experience. Your brother couldve literally ran up to a sign and read where he is, he doesnt need your hand-holding
