Plus EFT - Gear > skill
I haven't played Escape from Tarkov. I dont recommend it because I think PUBG or Scum would be better just from what Ive heard.
If you are looking for a game where you just kill people have you checked out PUBG? Public Unknown Battlegrounds.
I know Escape from Tarkov is more of an open shooter like PUBG and I think PUBG is better at that.
I've played PUBG and its a fun battle royale game on a large map. Team up with a random guy as a team, or up to 3 others for a 4 man squad. You air drop on to the map and you just pick up loot. In PUBG theres a zone that spawns and you have to run to the zone or you start dying. It's a fun game.
Ummm..
Scum? My friend played Scum and said it was okay. You might like Scum its like DayZ but it tracks your weight and there are robots in it but I've never played it so I can vouch for it.
Now he's saying you pi ss and ♥♥♥♥♥ in scum and some guy made his character so fat he became unplayable.
♥♥♥♥ now I want scum.
Watch some videos of all of them.
I want you to die dayz though because Ive had some good times. Do you have any friends to play with? Knowing people makes it so much better.
I'd think on what appeals to you and if you're still unsure go get Arma 2 and Arma 2 operation arrowhead try the mod ( as that option is probably cheaper than DayZ at this moment ) and have a taste of what dayz is to help decide.
Just don't get lost in the number of dayz mods as they all have a different take, get the mod off steam.
DayZ SA can be played as a PvP if you are into that kind of thing but not everyone that plays DZ is necessarily into that kind of play style. The thing I like about DZ over EFT is that it will accept all play styles and gives you the tools to make any of them work... but more than that, once the dev's get all the mechanics tweaked, it will, above all be a fairly hard core survival game, which EFT is not... unless you call the quickest and most accurate shooter a survival trait... LOL. :j
Wow thank you for the detailed explanation! it clarified a few things, i have played scum before, but i didnt like it that much, ive also played pubg before, but currently there's no OCE servers. i might watch some videos about the 2 games and decide, thanks for your advice my friend.
Hmm good idea, i might look into it, thanks for the help!
So if you watch an older video youll see guns you might not be able to use.
So over weeks and months new guns and vehicles will be added. hopefully.
ok will keep that in mind, thank you!
From the looking at the list of games in your profile I would say you would love Tarkov. Great shooter with tons of elaborate weapons and weapon mods that are very realistic.
I play both games. Right now Tarkov is on sale for 25% off.
Thanks for the advice and heads up!
Ive played both pretty extensively (1K hrs+) and both are pretty fun. Community wise its hard to say - DayZ bled most of its community and EFT is much younger than DayZ. But imho it doesnt really matter, as both games have a solid enough playerbase to find likely mineded if you want to.
Gameplay wise:
EFT
+
- Combat system & weapon customization much more sophisticated than current DayZ
- Much more content in regards to equipment, weapons and weaponmods
- Movement much more ellaborated than in DayZ
+/-
- no open world as of now (planned but wouldnt expect it for at least 2 years)
- faster pacing; you go into raids and have an offworld stash where your equipement is save; one raid lasts 30-60 minutes
- lower playercount but smaller maps - more encounters than DayZ
- trading system with npc traders and player market
- 1st person only
- PvE with better AI and bossfights
- more sophisticated health, armor and ballistic model
-
- no basebuilding (offworld "base" is planned)
- basically no survival mechanics
- no zombies
- no vehicles
- no modding
DayZ
+ beautiful open world
+ modding
+ more focus on survival mechanics
+ community servers
+ in world base building
+ vehicles
+/-
- slower pacing
- nothing is save
- no trading
- no serious AI
- optional 3rd person
-
- current combat system barebone at best
- lack of content
- basically no weapon attachements/ modding
- list could go one quite a while as a lot is still missing
Overall both games are different but should attract the same kind of players. If you dont like PvP EFT isnt your cup of tea, but DayZ at least holds the possibility to find some non-PvP servers - but dont expect that to be the common; DayZ in its origin is hardcore PvP as well, even though some people neglect this.
My advice: get them both.
Why did you list 1pp as - for tarkov
