Body despawn time?

Whats the timer for despawning. Do they despawn if you are near it

Guessing around 15 minutes. I died the other night to zombies, spent 20-25 minutes running back to try and get to my corpse. It was gone when I got there. I doubt another player found it in the meantime and buried/hid it. It was very dark, the server was pretty, and I was a decent ways inland.

I did find my gun laying on the ground right where I died though which I thought was pretty strange.

If you had gun in your hands when you died and your body despawns, your gun stays on the ground. Happened to me several times with a friend and i saw that happening on runningmans video.

If you had gun in your hands when you died and your body despawns, your gun stays on the ground. Happened to me several times with a friend and i saw that happening on runningmans video.

I did for sure. Pulled it out right when I was about to go down... just a few seconds too late. I was surrounded.

i had a body despawn in about 3 mins, while i bandage myself up and checked to see if any1 else was a around after a gun fight. So i really dont know.

It seems to be random. sometimes a body will stay for a while other times it just vanishes pretty fast.

When you die, you drop your gun. Guns have a higher despawn time.

The meat/bones/fat would stay behind probably. I'm not saying this is possible, I'm just saying people usually leave a nice mess behind.


OP bodies have despawns in 10-15 mins for me. They're too quick.

fyi on my server, player bodies always last until the next server restart.. Yet another reason my server is superior to official (if you like difficult PVE)...

I played your server. No offense but it was not difficult. I spawned and found 6 sheep and 2 chickens at the first water well yet didn't see 1 Z.
