How long does it take for a body to despawn ? (Official server)
^
I ran back to the place of my death in about 20min+ and couldnt find my body but I can still hear the flies ?

Ps. I killed a guy earlier and his body is still there (More than 30min)

There was nothing left + it was a secluded area so thats very unlikely.
Edit: I forgot to mention I wasnt shot I died due to dehydration.

where is this stated longest i have seen is 20 minutes
I keep seeing references around the internet to the despawn of many items being linked to proximity to active players. In spite of what the server files say there appears to be additional layers of influence in this mechanic. I can easily see that the devs don't want to reveal 100% of every mechanic since some people just look at it as a challenge to exploit.
In general what appears to happen is if no players are around the despawn happens more quickly, if other players are close by then despawn takes longer. If items are all the way ruined that seems to also have an influence to quicken the despawn.

This actually makes sense and explains a lot.

Most of this stuff is configurable by server admins in globals, CE wont remove the item if there is a player nearby for example, that's CleanupAvoidance (in metres), it's just not very well documented.

That's a pretty top notch understatement and thanks for the clarification lol
I've been in this file and likely lost focus when I read CleanupAvoidance. You know, flashbacks to when you were yelling at the kids to pick up their rooms. The therapy helped but obviously I'll need a few more sessions.

I know the value units of measure vary for whatever is being controlled (time, distance, quantity, etc.) but I'm betting the type may also be specific for each line. The "0" on this line may mean something different than the "0" for TimeLogin or maybe mean nothing at all.

Now I really wonder whats it all configured to on the official servers.
