DayZ

DayZ RAM usage
Absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ draconic. Eats through my 12 gigs like nothing, resulting in frequent lag spikes and an unintentional player radar (noticed short lag spikes when a player appears). After about a hour of play it becomes nearly unplayable. Anything I can do with that, without upgrading the hardware?

I play with 16gb, so far so good. Yes sometimes I get lag spikes but very rarely
Do you play on HDD or SSD? PC specs?

Dayz is intense on Ram sometimes. 16 GB should be enough tho🤔

I play dayz on my laptop (2018 Omen 16GB 1070 MaxQ) without any issues, so i dont think it is that demanding. Im going to add 16GB around summer time, but i can't complaint right now...

HDD. Game takes barely any time to load (unlike *cough* tarkov *cough*).
Specs:
WIN10;
CPU AMD A12-9720P RADEON R7
12 GB RAM
GPU R7 M340
And yes, I want to die, before you ask.

LOL

There was a post previously where guy had similar issues and SSD replacement helped.
Something is wrong with your hardware. Check other games if you have same spikes.
Also your GPU looks weak. Try to change settings to low and check again.
I used to played on 8gb ram laptop - everything was smooth

the bottom line is DayZ plays pretty good on decent PCs with no issues. Look for hardware weakness - HDD, GPU, etc

I pinpointed the issue to RAM, since it's at more than 90% and sometimes 95% when I play DayZ. GPU feels fine. Getting from 30 to 50+ on average. Other games don't do that.

Im running on a 5? 6? Year olf tower with a GTX 780 and 12gb Ram. I run nearly seemless unless server lag.
What's your RAM usage when you don't have the game running?

I'm playing Dayz on a laptop as well.

I5-9300H
GTX 1650 4GB
8Go RAM

I don't have so much lag, just sometimes. And I can run the game at "High" graphics level at about 70 FPS, more or less (the game is installed on a SSD).

From two to three gigs. Usually two, when i don't have Steam running and everything.
Hmm. Did you set any custom page file settings or is it still system managed?
