grainy nights, plz help
Hello everybody,
I started playing again after a loooooong break. Really like what they've done with the game.

The only problem I have are those flimsy white dots at night. Since there is no more gamma bar to abuse (which is great btw) I know it has something to do with my monitor's gamma. The problem is I have no idea how to adjust that or what I need to set it to.

Darker nights are amazing and a lot more immersive and I love it but I can't quite enjoy playing with those grainy nights...

Thank's for help in advance

try switching fullscreen / windowed mode (and vice versa). maybe that makes a difference on the gamma.
or just adjust your gamma in windows or your gfx card software.

Your gamma is too high. Turn it down

Would you care to tell him how, what a ♥♥♥♥ response tbh,
@ op I had same thing and people would say turn down gamma noob without saying how. The only way I was able to fix it was full reinstall. Don't worry about losing any progress as it's al saved on the cloud.

go to settings and turn down the gamma-slider.

oh, never mind, they removed that slider.

I've had the problem, it plagued me from .60 to .62. I tried everything because I really like the game, playing at night was impossible with the "grain". I was scared I would lose progress if I reinstalled. I came to these forums and would axe "Hey Fellas, I was to totally reinstall Dayz to try to fix "The Green Grain" at night will I lose progress?" I would have mods say "Just turn down the Gamma Nub" without saying how to do it without a slider. Shrugs Shoulders.
All that moniter things above don't fix the problem that the game created when it went "live".

.6 and .61 and .62 didnt have the grain filter. I dont know what youre talking about.

If it's too much for you to google how to adjust your gamma on your monitor or gpu-driver settings for a game, then maybe you should call up technical support and have them adjust it for you. I heard some of the companies have taken a policy of elderly-discounts to help those who have distinct challenge with computers and other technical devices of the 21st century

if it's distinctly green, then i am pretty sure that's just artifacting due to you gpu dying/monitor cable not connected properly

the brightness slider is pretty much scuffed. I recommend you adjust your monitor and/or gpu gamma

misinformation from someone who's never had the problem and think He/she is right about everything without taking into account that someone has had the problem and tried everything, including monitor and grafics only to have to totally reinstall

Thanks Nika for always being there.

By the way Nika how does me saying to OP what happened and how I fixed it offend you so much?

I believe it went Live in .6, it gave me the grain henceforth, until .62 when I reinstalled to fix the problem.

it came with 1.0 when the game went into release-phase. 13th of december, 2018. I have had this issue myself, thank you very much. and the simple fix was to adjust the gamma. If you are seeing GREEN grain instead of the usual monocolour ones, then that would indicate a fault somewhere in your graphics. So it could be drivers, a loose connection, some sort of bios flash youve made to your gpu... pretty much anything, but very rarely caused by the game itself.

You are the one troubleshooting the issue, and when asking the public, you have the responsibility of taking the advice you want. Practically nobody here is getting paid to help with your issues

@ op try the methods mentioned above.
