If you don't play a ton of DayZ, but enjoy it occasionally, I would not recommend it. The Livonia DLC is great, but the map is a tad more brutal than the original map, with less landmarks, more forest, and more treacherous terrain.
If you feel like a seasoned survivor, this is likely a great addition to your game. If not, I'd avoid it until you play more of the game and decide for yourself.

Navigation in Livonia is a lot harder, but the upside is that you don't have to run forever to get military loot like Chernarus. Dont expect to find fruit trees. Since its release, I've only killed two zombies that had apples. You are going to forced into hunting and cooking your food to survive. Building bases it pretty much out of the question as the map is too small. Driving around in a car is potentially a death sentence. You have to be more creative surviving Livonia. Someone could be 75 meters away and you wont know it unless they shoot and most likely they are hunting.
But it's up to you what you want to do.
So the Livonia DLC doesn't actually do ♥♥♥♥?
