Do controllers work?

I know they are not preferable but I want to play on my nvidia shield as it states DayZ is a supported title with Geforce now. I have the shield portable with built in controller.

I don't think so. The current stress test builds may have some compatibility but I don't think it'd be playable. I could try and plug in my PS4/XBOX controller and see. I doubt it works well tho yet.

yes and no. you can walk around and look at things i dont think the inventory system works yet with controller but i havent tried it since the exp version for 63 was first released

Wish they would give us back an axis for wasd as it was in the mod and Arma. Then those with a mouse could have that analog movement with a stick other than a controller stick along with the precision aiming of the mouse. That was nice. You didn't have to have a controller to get that. You could map the movement axis to any axis you had available.
