Loot despawn timer in .63
I can't seem to find any information on how long player dropped loot takes to despawn. Is there any information on that floating around? I'm speaking of loot that is actually dropped, not dead body loot.

I'd like to have an idea when I find something like a piece of paper or just a pile of stuff on the ground what kind of time frame I'm facing in regards to player proximity.

Also, slightly related, if you drop something in a container that you don't pick up (shirt, dry bag, pot, whatever), does it treat that container like it was handled and start a despawn timer, or will it persist until another player finds it? I regularly put items in dry backpacks along the coast if I am having inventory issues and am wondering if that means new players can find it.

I haven't been tracking the fuctionality of presistance on .63 (becasue it isn't a stable branch), but if they've used the same calulations and basic functionality of the CLE/Presistence it could be the same values.

Do a simple test with a weapon or a backpack and see what the lifetime values are?

(.62 and previous versions data)

'•Items have a 30 minute lifetime which can be refreshed by picking up the item, or directly interacting with it.
•Base Objects (Tents, Ammo Canisters, Protector Cases, Barrels, Vehicles) have a 45 day lifetime. This will eventually move to 7 days once systems are in place for intuitive lifetime refresh
•Backpacks (not including the improvised and crafted types) have a lifetime of 4 hours
•Crafted backpacks have a lifetime of 1 hour'

'Weapons - 30 minutes'

'Default Backpacks - 4 hours
Courier Bag - 1 hour
Improvised Backpack - 1 hour
Improvised Leather Backpack (boar pelt) - 1 hour'

I knew the old timers, just wasn't sure if they had done anything new. I plan on testing tonight by finding a container of some sort and putting an item in it without actually picking the container up and then seeing if it is still there in the morning.

I'm sure someone has tested it and can leave some input, but like yourself i haven't seen any 'official information' in regards current values within .63. Hence the old values, sorry.

Tested this morning and gear that I picked up and moved and dropped sat for an hour without despawning. We'll see if it's still there this afternoon.
