It's pretty much what I expected, just like running most dedicated servers.
I wish they just make the Single Player mode already like they promised because running a dedicated server and DayZ standalone on a single PC is resource intensive.
It takes up 14GB of RAM to run these 2 thing.
Go to Workshop click subscribe to the mod. Wait for download to fininsh.
Right click DayZ in the Steam library & select run DayZ Launcher.
Go to to Mods section of the launcher and tick the box to add the mod.
Close/Exit the DayZ Launcher.
Navigate to your installed files.
There will be a hidden folder called !Workshop in:
steamapps\common\DayZ\!Workshop
Inside will be a folder of the subcribed mod, it will look similar to this:
@Name of the Mod
Copy that folder to your server location:
steamapps\common\DayZServer\@Name of the Mod
Rename that folder so all the spaces are gone.
Like this: @NameoftheMod
Inside @NameoftheMod folder is another folder called key.
Open the key folder and copy the nameofthemod.bikey file:
steamapps\common\DayZServer\@NameoftheMod\key\nameofthemod.bikey
Paste it in the keys folder of your server here:
steamapps\common\DayZServer\keys\nameofthemod.bikey
Right click DayZ Server in your Steam library click properties then SET LAUNCH OPTIONS
After -config=serverDZ.cfg leave a space and type -mod= then the name of the mods folder.
The one that you removed the spaces from if it had any.
Like this: -config=serverDZ.cfg -mod=@NameoftheMod
Click ok
Start up your server as normal.
Right click DayZ in the library and select run DayZ Launcher
In the mods section of the launcher it should show the mod box ticked and indicate loaded.
Click play and have some fun.
If you want multiple mods do everything the same. But don't forget to add the folder name in the launch options like:
-config=serverDZ.cfg -mod=@NameoftheMod;@NameOfAnotherMod;@AndanotherMod
This procedure is tested and working with Easy Signs by Cl0ud and Slow Zombies by Munghard.
Have fun all :)
You do not have to do the -mod= for each individual mod. They can be easily seperated with the ; delimiter. Example: -mod=@RPCFramework;@MOVNotifications;@MOVAirdrop;@Winter_Chernarus;@BuildAnywhere;@Trader <-- notice that the last mod does not need the ;
and what happens when i turn of my computer and start it later again. will the server be reseted? and my char, too?
