How do you put a loaded magazine in a gun?

That should be simple... right?

I have an mp5 and a few loaded mp5 magazines in my inventory.

Holding the mp5 in my hands, dragging a magazine over it to combine them does nothing. Leaving the gun on the ground and trying to combine the magazine with it does nothing. Having a magazine in the hotbar and hitting reload does nothing. The character just racks the emtpy gun.

What am I missing?

put the magazine on a hotkey, hold your gun in your hands and then hold the hotkey where your magazine is on.

Doing this turns my hotbar orange and that's about it. I tried tapping the magaizne hotkey again while it's orange or pressing fire, F and reload. Nothing happens.

HOLD the button which the magazine is inside of.
If it's an incorrect magazine it wont go inside the gun, if your gun for some reason has a invisible magazine in it then press R untill it's totally empty and try again.

I just found an AKM and magazine which work normally. I can drag the mag out and back in.

I think the mp5 was bugged.

yes i have this problem, i drag magazine and nothing happens .its just the mp5

Some of MP5 are buged with mmagazine stuck in it.

i've had some issues with bugged mags on the mp5, no other weapon though.

as for loading, try weapon in hands, drag and drop the ammo magazine to the 'combine' text... if it's not bugged, it'll load. you could also try chambering single rounds the same way.

I found this bug a bit ago, quick fix; "Drag and drop magazine to gun icon on top right of inventory screen". Seems like reloading/loading most guns can bug the weapon, seen it mainly with unloading magazines. The weapon just thisnks there a mag still in, using the inventory screen icons for drag and drop bypassed this problem for me many times.

I have had this happen to both the MP5 and just last night it happened to my AKM, it's a pretty annoying bug as I was in Kambishovo and I had come from NWAF with the loot. I'm sure it will be fixed soon enough though.

In 0.63 there is a bug, that can happen to any weapon with magazines not just the MP5, where a magazine is stuck in the weapon but does not work. You can see a mag in the weapon "inventory" but in-game no mag is displayed. You can cycle bullets from the mag using R but the weapon will not fire, and you can't reload the weapon with another mag. The weapon is in fact ruined beyond repair, you'll have to find another.

It happens sometimes when you pick up an empty weapon when you already have a matching mag in your bags, or the other way around. A workaround that stops it from happening is to open your inventory and manually drag the weapon/mag to your hands and then load the weapon as usual. It will work normally after that.

The MP5 was bugged in .61 , same bug. Which does not bode well.
