I cannot tell if it's "joy" or pure boredom. I don't see how someone can enjoy to shoot randomly ppl on sight, not knowing if it's even worth it. There is no reward other then mostly messed up loot. Also there is absolutely no punishment for killing someone, so you know...trigger happy kids mess around.
At least, joy could be one of many reasons to KOS.
Not to mention that people get bored and then start shooting. I guess I'm one of the few who could do something stupid instead like jumping around, exploring and trying to get to different areas by different means, and many other things. Shooting is in every other game today, so I don't really care about it.
KoS is all DayZ is about in the long or short run, because;
Aint ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ else to do..
The whole leather crafting area for example...make yourself a full "Old Shatterhand" suit, including backpack, vest and water-pouch..
Or make yourself a ghillie, stalk other players, try to be as close as possible without being detected...
Play only with bow and arrow...
Play only with X-bow...
Just to name a few...
Cute...
But PVP is the only thing to do in this game.
Cool, Just remember everyone else is playing to kill you.
If they can see me, they can try...and I'm not talking about hiding in the corners of the map...that ghillie stalking is really useful, even when you don't have one...
