Returning player, best loot areas?

Been away from the game for a while, well over a year and a half. Wheres the prime spots for loot now?

Tisy Military is the number one loot spot for Military Grade weapons and Ammo, followed by North West Airfield. As far as towns go, it depends on what you are looking for. Stalisky Island is great for finding Civilian Rifles (B95, Pump Shotgun, Mosin, Repeater) in the houses, Castle, or the Lighthouse. Stary Sobor and Novy SObor are great for regular looting, with the addition of the small military camp at Stary, might get lucky and find some nice guns at Stary (I've had a few instances of finding the FAL in containers there) but at least you'll pick up an SKS. If you just spawned and are relatively close to the south, don't feel like going to Stalisky Island and want to get something quick and dirty, most of the regular houses in the south spawn the Sporty with a scope/mag, sometimes both. Don't bother looting more than food and essentials along the Eastern Coast, the loot economy is set so that the Eastern Coast is fairly barren as far as loot goes and gets heavier as you move in land. My favorite route when starting in the south west corner is to work my way along the southern coast and collect Netting and a sport with a scope (mostly for the scope) until I hit the Military Checkpoint at the far South West Edge right after Kamenka, usually end up with an AK74 and a B95 by then with ammo to spare for both thanks to the abundance of vehicle loot spawns and the military tents. If I start up north I wirk my way from Svetlo to Svergino and then hit the Military Camp just west of Svergino, usually end up with an SKS if I'm unlucky or an AK74 on good days, either way I get military apparel. From there it's straight to Tisy, then Tisy Military. Avoid looting Heli crashes, pretty much nothing good unless you're looking for military clothing. Last spot would be the Military Check Point North West of Myskino, good for a small amount of Military loot, but great for finding .308 and Civilian gear.

1) Tisy - Heavy Military Loot
2) North West Airfield - Moderate Military Gear, lots of weapon attachments
3) Stary Sobor - Light Military with chance for High Grade weapons

On a more helpful note: I like the Izurvive DayZ map. It's interactive, easy to mark locations and displays things fairly well, except for the town names, those get blotted out by all the markers.

you are not going to get told the best spots for loot here, because the "best" spots are also the highest traffic areas, sure Tisy spawns good loot, but good luck getting it before somebody else does and getting out alive. The "best" spots i've found are the small out of the way places, the north edge of the map is pretty good (not the major towns along the main road, further north, the small towns), and unless i'm looking for a fight I avoid milbases like the plague, or i'm positive I am alone on the server. and there is another spot on the main road at the west edge of map that gets visited just a little less than a mil base that has good loot. I find more houses with 2 or more guns in them in small areas than I ever find houses with 1 gun in high traffic areas.

oh and you have been away, infected have loot now, check bodies after you kill, dean hall always has a kiwi. also stuff spawns inside clothing aswell.

i dont play much dayz but food is so easy to find inland, i usually end up leaving tons behind since i lack space. people who say there is no food are usually people with little playtime in dayz who only loot on coast

When it comes to food one should always eat until they are stuffed, at least from what I remember eading. There is a pretty large capacity when it comes to satiation for hunger and it takes a while to fill it all the way up for maximum statiation duration. So keep eating what you find when you can. The satiation is separate from the stomach capacity. Stomach capacity (when you get full) encompasses both water and food, but it empties quickly enough for you to keep both hydration and satiation in the positive ranges so long as you eat regularly.

Exactly that. Being stuffed gives you negative impact. Your character will complain but you won't have to feed yourself for a long time and you'll still gain benefits like blood regeneration so long as you are hydrated too

Best place for loot is anywhere inland. Loot is INSANELY easy to get now, especially further and further inland you get. You should be fully geared with civilian equipment by the time you leave your first town, and if not, you're guaranteed by your second. Dayz is less stressful to play since it's so easy to replace your gear as of now, so long as you don't set your sights for military loot anyway. A lot of (dead) players will provide that for you
