Have you already tried to run it on the .63 build? That has quite some optimisation compared to .62 I think.

If you decide to try it on the .63 Stress Test build, don't run it in the Offline mode as performance is significantly decreased there. Wait untill there is a stress test without condensed player spawns.

I have some Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz, GTX 460, and 4 GBs of RAM. Low to mid settings, FPS is around 30-40 on average outside of towns, sometimes dipping to 20 or lower in the big cities.

What can I say... Can't afford a new PC just yet. My dinosaur is around 10 years old by now. But hey, I managed to complete The Witcher 3 on it with the average of 25 FPS pretty much anywhere! If DayZ makes that awesome optimization in the beta, maybe, just maybe, my PC will last a bit longer, heh.

Drawdistance 400??? Why do people try and play games that aren't suited for their systems. It just ruins the experience.

Sometimes, the game is worth it even if you have to downgrade graphics a lot.

Graphics is one thing, but viewdistance?

I lower the viewdistance sometimes due to my PC being weak, but it's not 400. It's somewhere around 1000 - 1200. I only have to fear really good snipers that noticed me from such distances, but otherwise, it's not a trade-off that's too bad, at least in my situation.

A kilometer is reasonable. But 400 makes you an easy kill to even an assault rifle with a scope.

@DarkNova
Many thanks! I thought if the game would go.
