MP5 x UMP?

What is better guys ? I use Mosin/Winchester as primary and I used to use FNX as secondary but I suck with pistols..So I have to start using MP5 or UMP as a secondary..So what is better ? MP5 (9mm) or UMP (45ACP) ?

Mp5, lighter, higher rate of fire, bigge rmagazine and much faster bullet. Also takes less space

I'd always swap an MP5 for a UMP.

You won't be happy with either since they use the same projectiles the bullet speed isn't that much faster on the SMGs. Learn to lead the target and you will also hit with a pistol.
Or just use a shotgun with buckshot if you need to do something close and personal.
Saw off the Mosin and mount a scope and put that shotgun on your back. Make former a surprise gun if they think staying at distance will protect them.

It's is slightly less accurate at mid range ( up to 500m ) but the bullet still has enough power to get things done if you hit anything but the limbs. What players call sniping in DayZ is how far an empty shell ejects out of their weapon. If you want to shoot from let's say 800m from Stary past Stary on top of the hill you need the long barrel. I haven't tried it in DayZ because i am not the sniping type but in DayZ mod the SVD just had barely enough power to secure a one shot kill to the chest on players.

Well I was using pistol, but I suck with it..I need at least 20 rounds to kill somebody.. oh..and thats another thing..Everybody eats like 15 bullets... I hit somebody 4 times and he still runs like nothing happend.

I had such cases too. They must have been wearing some vest or just more likely server lag / packet loss. Just shot a guy a few hours ago. He thought i didn't see him so i dumped a buckshot round into him from maybe 15m. Was enough to take him down and let the zombies take care of the rest. Funny thing was he wanted to pvp with an empty rifle and an unloaded 9mm

I prefer the UMP and a companion .45 pistol over the mp5 and 9mm sidearm. but if I only have an mp5 I'm happy! also with my server UMP mags *feel* more common so that's a factor too. ymmv.

Well... The 45 ACP may be stronger.. But on the other hand the MP5 shots faster, bigger mag etc etc..

i'd use the UMP.

generally speaking, i'm using whatever weapon i have ammo for for, but in my experience i run across .45 and 39mm more often than anything else... however it does seem at times, depending on the server, i'll get a run on one particular type of ammunition, regardless of the location.
