I looked at the map a lot and it seems it is structured perfectly for Dayz. Instead of the few big empty cities we have now (Chernarus), Livonia has a much denser collection of smaller structures. I can recognize the power-plant and more industrial infrastructure, the sandpits and mine entrances as resource points for future base-building gameplay. It's all very nicely laid out. And then there is the huge open south where even with a chopper it won't be easy to find camoflaged tents. Overall the map seems created with Dayz in mind. And it is not a coastal map for once, so we don't have the usual flat south, mountaineous north aspects; quite opposite.
And c'mon - the AI in "Contact" will probably also come in handy for future development of Dayz AI on the map. They can test what Arma-AI does and what they want to change for the infected-AI. This is an ideal testbed map, even for all kinds of vehicles. Plus I actually like the mood. Seems like a great map for roleplay and base-building.
But the features have to be reworked so they work with DayZ as Arma 3 and DayZ use a different server now.
EnFusion is not a completely foreign engine and I expect that Bohemia made their own compilers to transfer assets and adapt technology from their old games. As for mapping - yeah the map will have to be individually dressed by environmental artists, but as far as importing its geometry goes - that's only importing the height-texturemaps. And as it buildings are empty in the milsim anyway and Dayz has scripts that can automatically fill environments, the bulk of the work would be creating AI and hazard zones. Which would have to be done on any map made from scratch, too.
I look at it from a practical standpoint. Livonia may be the better Chernarus map. It looks clean and organized. It would take some work to make it into a zombie-wonderland, but this map has the potential to actually look great when given the Dayz treatment. Personally, I would love to see it in the game.

I think he was refering to Livonia being unlikely. Namalsk has been announced a long time ago and nearly everyone is aware of it. That's the problem with one-word-replies: can't really tell what he's on about.
Personally, I hope there will be lots of official maps, but there's going to be modded ones anyway. So this map is not only interesting as a potential gameplay area (no beach = no empty starting area, much better concentration of players...), but mostly for its assets and gameplay. I've really been waiting for the patch that makes Dayz a survival game again. It's been nothing but a open-world shooter for very long now, but Livonia and its new elements could really liven up the game.
