A way To play the Old dayZ 0.29 in 2019

Is there a way to be able to change version to the old version of dayz standalone. like version 0.28-0.29 there are alot of people who would like to play the old version of dayZ standalone. including me. It would be a really good idea if they can implement this feature or even get the old files for people to host a server with that version. Ik its possible as i have seen this before on other games.

Just because it says 0.62 version is on the DAYZ standalone launcher software program doesn't mean its available in the DAYZSA main game, sorry but its not available there's not even a server running that version anywhere on DAYSA Launcher either. So that should tell you something, give it up bud.

Or you can try appealing to the Devs themselves, and good luck with that.

there is VERY offical way.Someone shared OFFICIAL steam game files,so its not cracked its fully legal files from .61 version that the guy just shared on some forum.He even gave OFFICAL server files also from that version of the game that were avaible for everyone during .61 version on stable so all u have to do now is just get a hosted server somehow.you can also run it on LAN but yea it will be just for you.Anyway dont listen to people who say that there is no OFFICIAL way,because offical game from DayZ .61 are directly from Steam so nothing wrong with them.
Im .61 lover so i would love to make that version playable again but i dont know what about the first dayz versions.Prolly someone shared them on some forums aswell but u have to dig really big whole to find them i think.Hope u eventually find the way<3

Yes, let's play old standalone.. that use to run like complete crap and on the old engine! What a grand idea! lol.

There are mods out there to make it more like how the DayZ mod was if you want that, but there is no reason to play old standalone version. Come on guys! Let's play dayZ at 25 fps when you get to big cities like the good ol days come on!

As someone who has played 1000+ hours on the mod and standalone, i would suggest just to find a server that runs old dayz features such as the audio, the guns, etc.. That way you get some of the stuff you enjoyed but at 100+ fps instead of 30 fps or lower like it was in 0.62 and previous.

sharing official files != Official way.

These files were possibly illegally shared and there is NO PUBLICLY AVAILABLE OFFICIAL WAY to play older version. Do not dig this hole deeper here or you might figure out that this forum is not intended for sharing illegal links.

Wait for official word from the official source on this

Legacy branch was removed .. if you have the legacy server files and legacy client yes it would be possible .. just not through steam

what exactly was better about "legacy" dayz, frfr. because i played the mod and most iterations of the standalone, and while the current one isn't perfect, it's probably the best dayz SA version we've ever had (imo).

only bad thing about it is, that i've expected this status from the get-go - as in an improved, more stable version of the mod. it's like 6 years overdue.

Legacy had more content... It was easier. such as not manually reloading things ect. this was around 0.29 but dayZ was laggy and buggy. But thats what i think made the game funny af. like shooting people in elektro and them dying by stairs xD. Think about it when did the Og youtubers started making DayZ Sa vids. it was around 0.29. 0.3. Such as goldglove. Frankie. Syndicate and many more. Those were the good days. and it would be kinda cool if we have a option to move versions. Ik its possible because they are still using the old models from dayz early access so that means they are using the old files. So theoretically u can still play the starting version of dayz. Please dont comment. "but it was buggy laggy" "why do u want to play the old dayZ" because u obvs havent played it. And think about it we have better tech now so it would be nothing to run dayz back then even though it wasnt that optimized.
