DayZ
Does DayZ servers save cars after restart?
I repaired different cars 3 times, olga/gunter/olga. Every time i hid them very far deep in forest. Every time i removed 2 wheels, a battery and a car candle. Every time then i log out and come back after day/hour/30 minutes - car dissappears. So... WTF?! Playing on official server.

Built up cars de-spawn when you remove a wheel or wheels from it. Battery and spark plug you can remove without any issue. (Car Candle?)

Yes, unfortunately, and you lost a lot of work there:steamsad:

Their really is no excuse after 5 years of development that we still have MAJOR issues like this. I still play Dayz ARMA 2 sometimes. and besides graphics, its is far better in every way possible. The fact standalone can not even get cars right is funny if not pathetic, the fact they can not even put in a bike is borderline neglect.

You could decide to read through the comments, and you will note the reason for OP losing his cars. There is no "MAJOR" issue here.

If you take a part off your vehicle such as the wheels the vehicle despawns. I don't play the game and this sounds like a major issue as the first thing some players might aim to do to protect their vehicle inbetween logins is take wheels off it and similarly someone can 'grief' another player by deciding to exploit the fact all it takes to despawn the vehicle is to take a part off of it rather than spend ammo on it to spite someone. DayZ while not a strictly realistic zombie apocalypse should strive to avoid leaving opportunities for people to exploit the engine handling vehicles inbetween reboots to cause maximum pain with minimal investment.

I should not be able to take a wheel off a vehicle I find immobilized because I know I can work the game engine in a way that despawns a vehicle that by all means and reasoning should be there regardless of what parts I took off of it the following reset.

Since you don't play the game, why is this concerning you? Fact of the matter is that if you remove a wheel from a car that's in circulation, it becomes incomplete and will decay and be returned to a spawn point. OP will now have to figure out another method of protecting his valued car.

I just spent 4 hours trying to get DayZSALauncher to work. If you have nothing but grandstanding to contribute how about you don't post next time? I made an argument in my post that being able to pop one part off of a vehicle to deliberately despawn a vehicle without the need to destroy the vehicle is an abusable mechanic that serves no end other than additional frustration. I do not play this game for realism, but I expect a modicum of it and my car, your car, any car disappearing because someone took a single wheel off is ridiculous. Do you have a counterargument? It was not this way in the mod and I would argue if they had enabled such a mechanic more players would of only been met with more frustration of losing a whole car and everything in it at a low investment from anyone who wants to take it away, Most of the time when you lose something in this game, a bullet is fired. Most of the time when you lost vehicles in ARMA, many bullets were fired or explosives detonated. What benefit does lossless despawning contribute to the game over giving the player the opportunity to replace the wheel before Babayaga or mother nature
poofs it into thin air?

Here is something to help you ahead of time, I hope that helps us get off the third level and onto something more meaningful and tangible to have an open dialogue!
