You can run a server on the same system you play on if your hardware is up to the job, no need for SteamCMD in that instance.
Install the server files, right click on "DayZ server" in steam tools and add -config=serverDZ.cfg
to the command line.
If you want to name and or password your server open serverDZ.cfg with note pad and add it there.
You can also set player numbers and server time, as well as other things, in that file.
Run your server, then boot the game and look for it in the LAN tab of the server browser.
If you want it to be visible to others over the web you'll likely need to take a couple more steps to forward ports etc.
There are a number of guides around if you need them.
tryed runing an bat file with the "-config=serverDZ.cfg" over "dayz server" also edited the serverDZ.cfg file to see if i needed to do that the programe runs it says on dayz server.exe or what ever its runing and finishes the load up i guess i tryed looking for the game could not finded it on lan or community server on experimental or current version i even tryed asking an freind if he could find it and he could not so i still have no clue on how to use the dayz-server.exe but i guess if any one eles have any idea on how to help i would love to hear it and tx
Start DayZ launcher, click on "Parameters", click the tab "All Parameters" scroll down to "Client" and enter the values from the quotes above,
Server IP : 127.0.0.1
Port : 2302
Password : Your Server Password.
I believe that the IP address, 127.0.0.1, is where your LAN server should be if it is running on the same PC that you are playing on and I believe 2302 is the default port unless changed!? Not sure about the why's and wherefores, but those values should do the trick.
Good Luck.
