Me and a group have been testing objects across different official servers, where practically all servers, including ones that say they are persistent, are failing to carry objects/items/vehicles over. So I am asking if there are any set of servers that are know to actually work with persistence.
You can't take a car from server A and change server and expect to see the car on server B, neither can you drop items on the ground in the same scenario.
Persistence means the items persist on THAT server not over all servers.
The only thing that will go from server A to server B on official and certain community shards are your items in your inventory.
OMG...
yes that is understood, trying those things across each server meaning testing the persistence of each server. Sorry for the poor wording, but my original question still stands as we have failed to find a reliable official server where the persistence is decent.
**Or is this feature still too unreliable to count on for base building, storing cars, stashing items?
Lol
That makes more sense
Ahhhhh ok, That may be where the good stuff is. Thank you, We may look into community. Just as of now we are getting kind of frustrated with servers being official servers being "persistence" but failing to carry things over.
Persistence works on official Hive and Private hive ( Public servers where you go from server to server to server and keep your gear and Community servers that anyone can setup and mod or just leave as vanilla game ).
The problems most have is going from Stable release to Experimental release and expecting the Experimental servers NOT to be reset.
Always remember, People rent both Official Hive servers and Community Hive Servers and as such can go to different Renters with a fresh database from month to month while still having the same IP and even get wiped ( Bohemia only maintain the Public Hive and don't control the choices of the server Renters who will decide if they want it wiped or not ).
Since server files release I've not experienced persistence problems on any of my hosted servers, There was a patch a long time back that crashed the servers and caused loss of data but that was easily fixed in minutes restoring the data files and since then Bohemia have added a level of redundancy to the data files themselves within the "\steamapps\common\DayZServer\mpmissions\dayzOffline.chernarusplus\storage_1\backup" folder and the archives within the "\steamapps\common\DayZServer\mpmissions\dayzOffline.chernarusplus\storage_1\data" folder to, Overall consistent Persistence will be down to how active the respective admin of that particular server are.
