maybe the other guy lol, but hey this is the same dev for arma 3, so i am allowed to say it lol. i had fun times, i admit. but this game in progress, killed it for me.
If you ask on the forums you'll just get the opinions from a heap of people who have already made up their minds, so it won't help you anymore than reading Steam reviews, and those are beyond worthless.
It all depends on what you want from a game. If you want a clean, polished, user friendly AAA title with quick action you'll probably hate DayZ. If you want a slower game more focused on survival you might end up hating it anyway since so many players play it solely as a PvP shooter, making the game very unforgiving to newcomers.
That didn't stop me from getting hooked though, there's something special about scavenging the world for hours, slowly building better gear for survival without meeting a soul, then you bump into another survivor and what happens is 100% up to you and the other player. Sometimes (often) violence, sometimes trading, sometimes just a chat, sometimes grouping up to find adventures together. Easier to survive together...
In the end my advice would be to ignore all reviews. Instead watch some different streamers and youtubers playing the game in different ways and then give it a go if you are still curious.
Playing alone isn't that much fun.
This. It's relatively inexpensive and if you don't like it you can refund it as long as you don't go over 2 hours or 2 weeks.
The game is unique but unfinished, the so called release just a cashgrab before they focused on the console releases. I wouldnt buy it at full price, its defnitely not worth it and will be on sale soon enough. Just put it on your wishlist and get 50% off, you will get a less buggy version - this game is years away from being finished, if ever.
If its enjoyable for you isnt something youll get answered anywhere.
You? Sorry, I can't decide for you... It's your money.
They contain a lot of misinformation and even disinformation in some cases, things like this for example....
Because of this they are of little, if any, help when trying to judge whether this is a game you'll like.
The game is still a work in progress. If you don't like the sound of that, probably best to wait.
Your best bet is either watch streams or youtube, of just go for it and try to come to a decision within 2 hours of game play.
