Am I doing something wrong?...
Me and my Buddy are playing on our Private server,
we found 2 cars , installed the radiators, put a bottle of water in both them, spark Plugs, Car batterys, Tires and Headlight Bulbs. (all prestine condition)

After driving for few minutes, both of the cars totaled, dont know why, it just started smoking...
After some research, i found out that you need Motor oil. But i didnt find any spot to fill it in the Car. Nowhere.

I didnt hit anything on the road, no small stones, nothing.

I noticed a Symbol on the right down corner of the screen (green or yellow, dont know, im colorblind)
Its supposed to be the Engine light. After 1 minute of driving, it popped on, after some time it went darker ,then the cars stopped....

Maybe im Shifting into wrong gears, dunno, i watched the RPM, slowed down before changing on lower gear, Newer gave full throttle....

You see the cooling fluid gauge? Fill the car with water until it's full. About 1/3 of a jerrycan or 3 pots of water.

Where was the needle on the temperature gauge?
Zerodarion Sep 22, 2019 @ 2:39am
Do you mean the gauge below the Fuel Gauge?

There are only 2

One bottle of water is not near enough for the radiator, it needs nearly six litres to be full, I learned this the hard way. So yeah, you boiled the engine...

Three cooking pots of water into the radiator, or six canteens or twelve pet-bottles. Always!

ok Thanks, now its working

I really recommend you use a Jerry Can and fill it with water once you have used it to fill the car with gasoline, if you can find one. Not only does it fill the radiator up quickly, but you'll have a decent supply of drinking water to drive around with - what could be better, right? ;)

As far as I can tell, engine oil is not necessary in 1.05. I've been over my two ada's several times looking for a way to put engine oil in and come up with nothing so far... haven't had any engine problems yet either... full water, full gas... drive, she said! :j

It seems if you don't use engine oil it damaged components after a while. We had a damaged spark plug after a while. Oil makes the engien run smoother, you can hear the difference.

That may very well be... but I have not seen it happen yet... more to the point is - where the heck do you put the engine oil, as I noted in my post I have been unable to find a place to fill it anywhere. :j

It only works on the Ada so far, i can't even find the filler cap on the Sarka.

You have to remove the hood then climb on the engine then look at the filler cap from above. The thing why it doesn't work on the Gunther and Olga is this: The moment you crouch you collide with the windscreen because of the shallower angle and the animation stops. You can only fill oil facing either the side slightly forward or the front of the vehicle.

Thanks Enforcer! How'd you figure that one out? LOL...
I've got two ada's running currently and I'll give that a try later & post the results so everyone else knows. :j

UPDATE:
Enforcer is correct.
I removed the hood of my ada 4x4.
Vaulted up onto the engine compartment with a jug of oil.
Finding the sweet spot to fill from was a pain... took close 5 or so minutes...
crouched down in first person, up against the center of the windshield, facing forward... had to jockey around for a bit due to every time the animation started it moved my toon and lost my position... once I found the sweet spot though it took just a hair short of 3 jugs to fill the oil... and my engine sounds so much better now.
Thanks for the info dude! :lunar2019coolpig: :cozybethesda: :j

Interesting, I always assumed oil wasn't working yet. I have an Ada aswell and will try that. I didn't find Oil yet though. In the patch before I was based north and found plenty. Is it less common to find oil in the south, or was I just unlucky so far.

P.S.: I love the Ada. Can't wait to have it sound better. But what about the Sarka? It's the weirdest car I have ever seen. Engine tilted, hood opens sideways, front-wheel-drive, but rear engine...I figure it must have its oil intake somewhere reachable=?!

Had some discussion going on with a buddy when he ran a test server. He said the engines made weird noises when you rev them.
So after we got all 3 cars ( was before the patch with the Sarka ) we tested it out on the vehicles. Must have looked really funny to an outsider if they had seen us dismantling and jumping the vehicles with oil canisters.
