How to play Co-Op?

Hi everyone, bought this game with my mate hoping to play a bit of co-op action but haven't had much luck. Whenever we spawn into the game he ends up one side of the map and I end up on the other? Is there anyway to make this process easier? It can take up to 45mins for us to find each other?

you can commit suicide and respawn. there are a number of pre set spawn points. You need some luck to spawn close to each other, but a few tries should get you pretty close.

But if you like me need to find the nearest town to actually know where you are, it's a time consuming endeavor

The first time I played the DayZ mod in the old days, me and my friend took literally 3 days to finally find each other. I wouldn't want it any other way.

Sorry about that. When my son will suffer a couple hours in my game of choice i have him log in and watch where he is then i go to him and in an hour or so i tell him to log back in... Its not perfect.. But having it any other way would open the door to whole gangs of boxer short wearing fools blasting music, its good like this... Angry kids and trolls have poor attention spans. Consider it a feature mate.

Spawning, looting, dying, spawning, finding out where you are and knowing how to get somewhere are part of the game. If you and your mate have problems doing that i suggest learning it quickly because moving around is a huge part of the game.
