Can garden plots be destroyed?
Yesterday I felt experimental and put a garden patch on a spot I now need for a large tent. I can't remove the garden plot, but I had left one plant intact on it, to see what would happen when you don't rip them out after harvesting; (found out you can harvest them again after restart, then)

Now I have a tent full of pumpkins and an empty garden patch I cannot destroy. I hope without the plant on it, it will simply despawn on next server restart. However, wouldn't it be convenient, if we could remove those patches ourselves?

On that note (convenient), I think it would be really helpful if you could just tap to fill a container and not have to hold it to fill up. I needed fuel and water, and keep having to hold the lmb, until they are filled. One click to start, one click to stop (or stop when full), would be the better option.

The patch will de-spawn after a while, not sure how long though, but it goes

I've waited through multiple restarts now, even after I removed the crops. Maybe the parameters can be tweaked? (it's a modded server). My campfire's been persistent for days now too (with stones and tripod).

In the worst case, I'll have to find an admin online and hope he can remove it. I wasn't aware these plots can be made to last several days.

That's new for me, I'll have to check it out again.

on vanilla garden plots have a lifetime of 21600 seconds. fireplaces should be gone in 7200 seconds. timer starts at zero if u interact again with it.

Thanks, that's very detailed. So it would take 6 hours past the last interaction. Since I ripped out plants earlier, I guess I'll have to wait at least until tonight to make it go away. The fireplace should have despawned however. I think it got bugged when I kept feeding it logs overnight, because I couldn't access it any more and couldn't cook on it, either. But it stayed through restarts for days now, and I don't think it'll go despawn; but that seems to be bugged, I hope the garden plot disappears as predicted. Thanks for the replies!

If you add 8 large stone to the fireplace you can create an oven so not needing the tripod.

If i remember correctly adding stones to it was supposed to create a more persistent fireplace but i can't find the upgraded oven versions statistics or even a fireplace with stone within the types.xml file so it could still use the default fireplace lifetime.

I remember the stone ovens, but I'm not sure we can still make them. With the 8 big stones dragged onto the fireplace it just gave me a bigger fireplace. The tripod I used even before I had the stones, but there is no need to cook anyway. There's plenty of food on the zombies.

Yup we can still make them, i had to warm up during a recent downpour on one of my servers and thought i'd see if they are still functional however as stated i don't see a modified fireplace in the types.xml file so its lifetime could still be that of the default fireplace.

I hope they reduce the food drops on zombies but then i like living off my hunting instead of canned goods :steamhappy:

Cool ,the stone ovens even look better from when I last saw them. How do you make them though? Do you look at the fire with the stones in hands? Bc when I just dragged and dropped them, it made a campfire circle automatically.

u need the bigger stones. u can get them from rock formations with a pick axe.

I made a green pepper patch next to my base thinking that they would grow and stay there in case i ever needed emergency food. got on after about 24 hours and the whole thing was gone like it had never been there. I guess after awhile it despawns. same with my campfires i make even when i upgrade them with a tripod and cooking pot. after about a day they just despawn

I needed the bigger stones for the upgraded campfire too. The small ones can only be used for knifes, atm.

Add 8 large stones to the fireplace before lighting it ( I dont know if it will function during burning fire or once the fire has burned out ) look at the fireplace and you should get the popup saying hold F ( or whatever bound button you have set ) to build / craft oven.

Note if you just deploy the fire the oven entrance will be on the other side of the fire from where you deployed it.

To dismantle look at the oven ( once the fire is totally extinguished ) to dismantle the oven.

You can dismantle the oven before lighting it too and maybe before the fire gets to the point where you can reignite it, when the fire gets to the point where you can reignite it you will have to wait for the "embers" to die out.

Edit: I am deploying a full log fire, paper, rags, bandage, small sticks and firewood.
