As far as i know wringing clothes works but it needs to be wet not damp or soaked and your body needs to be dry before applying clothes

I'll pay more attention next time.... I generally wring my clothes for the heck of it while I sit by a fire but I've never noticed a change... just figured... "why not... got nothing else to do til I'm dry and warmed up anyhow"

Mostly the former.... it seems you can't make a fire outside when it's raining... or inside 99% of buildings this version.

99% sure if you have a single peice of rain gear on (exclding boots) before it rains you wont get wet at all.. might be a bug but who knows. i noticed this when i had a rain coat on, nothing got wet and moving on to full gorka same result nothing got wet on my body... but be warned if your wet from rain and throw on some rain gear its gonna do diddly squat

Rain coat and Gorka are the only known rain proof gear.... so out of all the coats and shirts out there everyone MUST wear either a rain coat or Gorka at all times is silly at best....

Especially when there is invisible / soumdless rain and the only hint that you're getting wet is:

"Im hypothermic" in red....

its not that hard to carry some rain gear in your kit and to put it on when the sky goes over cast... sure it sucks that you cant wear the amazing 8 slot jacketsall the time but lets be real here if you cant balance survival and PVP gear, your going to have a hard time playing this game.. you might as well play arma 3s exile with zombies...

Missing the point:

This has happened many times.... often at night.

No "overcast" warning... no sound or visual to let one know it's raining untill

I had a raincoat in my backpack... never had the chance to put it on.

Spawned in and was soaked before I had a chance.

I have 588 hrs on record... informed... had a raincoat... and not a PvPer....
your point is irrelevent.

It's not about knowing or not know how to play the game... it's about not getting vital, needful and relevant info about your character and it's surroundings in a manner timely enough to be useful without having to resort to wearing the only two pieces of clothing 100% of the time that is waterproof in a game oversaturated in rain.... that sometimes you can't see or hear untill it's too late.

I always carry an extra raincoat with me. Especially the green ones are really good if you want to trade stuff with someone. They always are like "what! a green one! OMG what do you want for it!"

Rain coat/Gorka is a big got to have in this game right now. I've been frm cold to freezing and beyound. RUN. I wring out clothes and sprint everywhere. If its stopped raining you will survive. Eat apples to get your stats in the green. It works. Now you may run half way across the map but you'd do that anyway for good loot.

Why don't you put an extra pair of clothes in a Dry Bag, or something?

The only thing that pisses me off about the wet status and all that, is when you spawn in, at the coast, immediately standing in sea water.

or how about spawning on that Island... weather seems fine so you figure you'll swim across and make a fire on the otherside... But once you reach the other side it starts pouring and you're dead before you can find a stone and cut sufficient items to build a fire. Happened to me once-

Skanky Island is probably the best place to spawn.

In fact, I hate the Devs for making it a spawn point.

You'd be surprised how few people ever swim out to it, voluntarily.

It had everything I needed. Several places to loot weapons and gear, and all the farmland one person could ever need, with almost zero infected.
