You are going to want to go inland for supplies. You will find very little, if any, on the coast. There is tent city, zelgorsk and NW Air Field has a bit. Only in the tents will you find good stuff.

I see alot of responses to these posts that say "move north". Well i am seeing houses on the coast with repeaters, shotguns, silenced pistols and mosins. Its the ammo you have to go inland for.

Well, I just discovered a new meta. If you spawn near Cherno or Electro, loot up in one of those cities (Look inside broken cars for backpacks and such) and loot the firestations for a fire axe and some clothes which hold decent space. Now, head toward the southern airfield and loot up whatever you can. Then head up north to the small military base in the woods, hit up those barracks for some weapons, camo clothing, and maybe a better backpack, then keep heading north to the NWAF airfield. Stop by the towns along the way, as some of them also have military gear. Zombies (especially those in military clothing) drop food and drinks sometimes, so that's a good way to stock up. Just kill them one by one with your fire axe, which is one to two hit kill, then you should be good.
