Most people compare DayZ to PUBG
Title says it. Please read the whole thing before you ♥♥♥♥♥ me out in the replies.

FROM MY PERSPECTIVE It seems like a majority of people say things like "PUBG is doing a lot better than DayZ"

Yet I see the two games are so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ different. Pubg doesn't have eye zoom yet people are saying if DayZ gets rid of it, they may stop playing. Then why're you playing PUBG?

They both include 1st/3rd person pvp, and you can loot items in the world. Other than that, two completely different types of games. DayZ is a survival game set in a post-outbreak world, PUBG is just a king of the hill style pvp death match. They shouldn’t be compared.

I'm glad you're able to see that. They're on 2 seperate engines as well.

Even if you do want to compare them as pvp games they are very different. Pubg you land on a few houses. Gear up very quickly and are pushed into combat. In DayZ you spend much more time gearing and the pvp is made more tactical because you have to deal with weapon sway, weapon and ammo durability, and the randomness of people being anywhere instead of being directed by a gas cloud or whatever.

One is a death match with restricted play zone and kiddie gunplay, might as well play cod as it does it better

The other is a survival game with a open world and a strong focus on survival

Why don't you just continue the discussion there?
As for the 2 games, they both have guns and loot, that's about it.
Rest is just people grasping at straws and not really getting what this game is about.

I dont think dayz and PUBG is the same, but I see what people mean by it is running looting and killing, all tho I find dayz more roleplaying game and open world, you dont have a timer that tell you where to go or what to do I recomend PUBG for people that dont have time enough to play and dayz for more expirenced players

"DayZ- "a gritty, authentic, open-world survival horror hybrid-MMO game, in which players follow a single goal: to survive in the harsh post-apocalyptic landscape as long as they can." (Steam-Store description)

PUBG is a last-man-standing shooter"(Steam-Store description)

Where does it state "progressing the survival idea further", in a arena deathmatch title? A clear distinction would be the amount if any of the basic mechanics for a survival title. I didn't realise PUBG had the basic survival mechanics? I thought it was a arena deathmatch last-man-standing genre title? with more in common with CsGo if you had to loot weapons & ammo?

1 - Shelter (Protection against the environment)
2 - fire (Well that is self explanatory)
3 - food & Water (Again self explanatory)
4 - Environment effects (disease, sickness and weather affects otherwise what would be the point of building a shelter, apart from storing loot?)

So obviously it is not in the survival genre, horror hybrid-MMO genre (No infected, zombies "Sorry it has a mode" or even aliens). Would you even class something like that as open-world when there are forced restrictions corralling players?

PUBG is nothing more than a Arena Deathmatch Battle-Royale where you play matches and nothing more (Basically CsGo with a basic loot spwan system loot) I'm not seeing the comparision to DayZ or even the survival genre. You do realise those Steam tags are user made? If enough individuals tagged CsGo as "survival" it would show. lol.

Now that is a fact..
