New player needing help

Would anyone be interested in helping a new player. Just bought the game yesterday and can't even find food.

Find apple trees. Just pick appels as fast as you can and you should be good to go fairly quickly. This will change with then next big patch though.

At the beach, or on stoney ground around buildings, you can search for a stone.
Then craft that stone into a stone knife.

You can use that then to cut a branch off a tree and now you have a sharpened pointed long stick. You can use that to kill chickens. You then use your stone knife to butcher them.

You use your stone knife to cut bark off a tree, make sticks out of branches - use stick and bark to make a fire kit.
Use your stone knife to cut off more bark. Combine with a stick to make a hand drill tto start a fire.
Combine more sticks to the stick in your firekit.
Light the fire.
Put meat on your "spear" and "pose" it over the fire and cook the chicken meat. Cook it until done but do not burn it.
Keep combining sticks with existing sticks in the fkirekit until the fire is no longer needed.

Use your "spear" to kill zombies. They can have loot on them including food.
Use your stone knife to open canned food.

That will help you get started.

Thanks. I thought i had found an apple archord but it didnt give me the option to pick apples. But now i think its because i found a pistol and was holding and didnt have room on my person.

Sweet bud,
Jump on the youtube and have a look at some starter guides.

Apples are the easiest way to start with food.

Find yourself a good online map also.
Find water wells in towns and that should get you started in the right direction.

Head in land once you can.
So put the coast line to your back and start travelling.
While it is not recommended to follow roads, seeing as you are just starting out I do actually recommend it until you are familiar with the map.

Yeah you need empty hands to pick them.
If inventory is full they will drop on the floor.

yeah you can't have anything in your hands when you try to pick apples, find a stone, etc.

I've done that more time than I care to count. lol

Ya the closes to a game like this ive played is nether, but Dayz is exactly what ive been looking for in a survival game.

I run a "boot camp " for newbies... It's not cheap(pretty exspensive to tell the truth ) but I assure you that after a few session at my establishment you will survive !
