Do you want to learn how to do it? I just ask because if not, we can safe the time for pressing copy and paste for the tutorial.
Expect nothing to work as intended and try to find another means of finding food.

2. Dean zed &infected loot (kiwi,sodas)
3. Charcole/meds & Raw meat

If you keep adding sticks + bark (as attachment!), you can keep this small fire going for cooking. I make one whenever I kill a chicken if it's my best option for food, and the whole process takes about 5-10 minutes, depending on where the best place is to start a fire where you're near. You don't want to go starting fires in obvious spots where people might notice.
As far as the bugginess is concerned, and I'm not sure if I'm just really lucky, but I haven't experienced many bugs when it comes to cooking/starting fires at all. Sometimes it's a PITA when you try to set/start you're fire, what with the "I'ts not safe to start a fire here" or w/e, but that's about it.
Now I have a GOOD reason to try!
