DayZ

Is DayZ optimized?
I'm playing the 64-bit version of DayZ currently and I've tried to find a city to test out of the FPS and the lowest I've gotten was around 40 which isn't bad. I haven't gotten to the big names like Cherno and other cities I've clearly forgotten the name of but did the game update pretty hardcore recently?

Define "recently"....

Ugh, I dunno how to define that properly... I just installed the game today and it was running nicely but I still haven't gotten to the big cities yet...

You played 203 hrs on record and just installed the game today....

Ya... I really need to check profiles first before I ask.... save me some time.

To answer the optimization question......

No, DayZ is not optimized, but the "game" is running extremely well. And to be completely honest it has always ran fairly well on my system. When they added the new renderer last year is was a massive improvement on FPS.

I can't wait until Beta when real optimization occurs.

Sigh, lemme rephrase that, "reinstalled."

Also, when does beta come out? I heard the game is suppose to be out of early access mid 2017.

v0.60.133516 went to Experimental Branch around 15 Jun 2016... then to Stable.

It had the first version of new renderer technology ( Enfusion engine ) and a switch from DirectX 9 to DirectX 11 which improved the video performance (FPS) and graphics.... yes.

When it does.... the Developers don't even know until it happens... time will tell.

( happy now? )

I gotta say, the game actually runs kinda nicely now. I can't remember which city I was in but I think it was either Cherno or Electro but it ran pretty alrighty in the city. Averaging around 40 FPS in the city but it never dipped below 30 which was pretty good in my opinion.

(And yes. c:)

i5 4690k , 24gb 1600mhz ramm, gtx 1070, "decent" internet

i average around 95-100 fps . 50-60 in towns 190+ in the woods or fields

i'd say x64 seems to work fine for me, averaging around 60-80fps at 4k resolution, i7 5820k. gtx 1070. 2660 mhz ddr4 16gb ram, fiberoptic internet

It's way better than regular. regular for me still has the odd dip or freeze, x64 literally NEVER dips or freezes. Totally solid.

i'm assuming all your drivers are up to date, and you've tried running both steam and dayz as administrator and tried reinstalling dayz? if not those are good places to start :)
